The Best Sunglasses For Every Face Shape

Sunglasses are a must for me year round. They are so handy to have on days when you don’t have time or just don’t want to apply any eye makeup on but still have to run errands.

Oversized sunglasses pretty much shield most of your face so all you need to do is throw a pair on and you’re ready to go.

In addition to time saving and being a stylish accessory, sunglasses serve a very practical purpose and that is to protect our eyes from ultraviolet rays amongst a plethora of other health issues that are associated to UV rays.

I know some people have a really hard time finding the “perfect” pair of sunglasses. For that reason, I just buy more and stimulate the economy one purchase at a time until I find that right pair!

For those who are more sensible and want to make a more prudent purchase, let’s explore the best sunglasses for your face shape.

Heart Shaped Face

If your forehead is wider and your chin is more narrow (sharp jawline), you would be classified as having a heart shaped face.

Recommended Frame Shapes: Rectangle, Retro Square or Cat Eye. Essentially, you want to choose a style that will minimize the width of your forehead and broaden the appearance of your chin.

Here are some options worth considering:

Diamond Shaped Face

If your cheekbones, generally high and pointed, are the widest part of your face, with your forehead and jawline being more narrow, you would be classified as having a diamond shaped face.

Recommended Frame Shapes: Cat eye and oval sunglasses to elongate your face and add a bit more balance.

Consider these:

Round Shaped Face

If the width of your face is about the same as the length, you would be classified as having a round shaped face.

Recommended Frame Shapes: Rectangular and square. This will help break up the face, making it appear longer and thinner.

Here are some options worth considering:

Square Shaped Face

If your forehead, cheekbones and jaw are about equal in width, then you would be classified as having an square shaped face.

Recommended Frame Shapes: Go for round or oval shaped sunglasses to balance the angles of your face so that it appears a bit longer.

Here are some options worth considering:

Oval Shaped Face

If your forehead is slightly wider than your jaw, your chin is rounded with no hard lines and your face is widest at your cheekbones, you would be classified as having an oval shaped face.

Recommended Frame Shapes: Congratulations, you have the easiest shaped face to find glasses for. Your balanced proportions can pull off any look.

Please bare in mind that these are only recommendations that will hopefully make online shopping easier and act as a guide, not a rule!

We are all special in our own way and for the most part, if there is a style that you want to “rock” – do it! Personal style should be just that.

Happy Shopping!
